I'm Cold ALL THE TIME

Weird weather today. I don’t trust skies that are black and white at the same time. What the hell kind of storm is coming my way? We had already decided not to camp this weekend and I’m glad. It’s going to be below freezing tonight.

I got this Very Entertaining Object from my mom for my birthday

Loose tea is not easy to come by in these parts, so, after the introductory sampler pack that she also gave me ran out, I ordered up a big batch from Culinary Teas. It came this week, but I only just broke into it today. That photo features what is left of the first brew of Market Spice flavored black tea. (I ordered two samplers -- the Spice Tea and the Green Tea.) Market Spice is pretty good: very pronounced cinnamon flavor and it had real orange zest in the tealeaves. Turns bitter as it sits, though.

I need to knit a tea cozy. The dishtowel I’m using now works very well, but it lacks aesthetic appeal.

Speaking of knitting, my new Interweave Knits also arrived this week. I, like Ali, am rather taken with these

Not only are they cute little footees, they have a double-thickness, cushiony sole. I was going to make finishing the Camp Shawl my Only Knitting Priority until it was done, but I think I’ll cheat and make some of these this weekend out of sock yarn remnants.

Next time you're in St Louis, there's a nice loose tea shop near one fo the smaller yarn stores on Olive and 141.

I'm English and I've never knit a tea cozy! There's a pattern in SnB Nation I think.
