I Love My New Hair
Although I think I look a bit hostile in this picture. That’s just ‘cause the sun is in my eyes. Also it is time to go to work.

I can’t believe I almost forgot to blog about this

2000+ yds of handspun, handpainted lace weight yarn from Uruguay, if these people are to be believed. It certainly took long enough to get here. I bought mine from eBay, but if I order from them again I’ll get it directly from the website as I paid a little more by bidding on it. This color is called col china, which I can’t get a translation for. I asked the woman (Mariana) with whom I was corresponding during this deal what col china means and she said it means nothing. The only colchina reference I found online was lettuce. So perhaps she was just reluctant to say col china is lettuce. Not very romantic, is it?
I’m not starting any new lace, though, until I finish this

My first Charlotte’s Web Shawl, made not with Koigu, but with Knitpicks Sock Garden in color “Zinnia.” I don’t know why Zinnia. I hardly ever buy orange. Right up until the moment I was actually talking to the woman on the phone, I was going to order Pansy, then I opened my mouth and ordered Zinnia. When it arrived in the mail, I thought, “Huh. Orange.” And I decided to just go with it. I’m only one repeat from being done, though, and my enthusiasm for the project hasn’t waned, so I guess it is okay.
