Blogging Grim

I hate Blogging Grim. But things are just grim around here and that is that.

This weather sucks. It is HOT and MUGGY and TOO BRIGHT. The women I work with insist I am a vampire because I do not respond well to too much sunshine. I prefer gray skies, cool temps and slight damp. I should not be in Southern Illinois. Especially in the summer. It makes me a mean.

I'm feeling a little sickly, too. My sinuses and allergies have been about to kill me, which is why I haven't been able to get any Faina done. I figured the pure-garter Who scarf was a better bet while under the influence of Zyrtec. And now I think I'm getting a kidney infection. My back is KILLING me.

When I get in such a funk, usually the best thing to cheer me up is to organize the hell out of something. Today, I chose my knitting pattern collection because then I get to look at the pretty knitting, which makes me happy, and also because no matter how much I organize it, it is never really all that organized. It's getting a little out of hand, in fact. I keep thinking I'm going to de-stash some of this stuff but I know I can't. I can't let it go. I Might Need It. Even if there is nothing in some of these books for myself, they might contain the Perfect Gift for someone 30 years from now. Someone I may not even KNOW yet.

I really hope my niece takes to knitting. She's going to inherit a lot of stuff.
