Today, in the mail, came Nicky Epstein’s Knitting Over The Edge for me to review free for some number of days I can’t remember and my free gift Vogue Knitting on the Go Ponchos. I honestly thought I was over ponchos but there are several in this book I like -- all round around the bottom more like a cape. One has chunky ribs and a zip up the front. I think I’m going to make that.

Also I got the new Lion Brand Catalogue. They are introducing four new yarns and none of them are Scary Novelty Yarns. One, however, is an Impossibly Bulky yarn (1stitch=1”.) One is a heavy aran-weight pure wool and one is heavy aran-weight merino/nylon/cashmere blend. They look rather nice. The fourth is a Semi-Scary bulky boucle, but I haven’t looked at it too close. And, of course, there are new colors for some of the other yarns, including a self-striping version of Fun Fur. Because Fun Fur isn’t already weird enough, I guess.
