Three Posts In November -- Woo Hoo!
I swear I'm going to do better in December. Most of our paperwork and meetings are done now, and I'm knitting, knitting, knitting, so I have a lot to talk about.
First, though: movies. I've seen two movies in the past week. Walk the Line and Harry Potter. I didn't actually fall asleep during either of these films, but they both score Very High on the Ho-Hum-O-Meter. The internet buzz on Walk the Line is line with my thinking; the performances and music are awesome but the story is very tame. All sudsy and whitewashed tame. And, I'd love to know what kind of drugs these critics are on that led them to describe Harry Potter as Frightening and Dark and Oh-So-Mature, because, honestly, it ain't. It makes me wonder just how much power a studio has to drive the media when a new potential blockbuster comes out.
Knitting? I'm making socks for Christmas. Also hats, but right now mostly socks. I'm still on the first sock, for my mother, and I am on the sixth version of the heel. I tried three different short row heels that I hated, then placed waste yarn for a peasant heel, which also took three tries before I had closed the gaps to my satisfaction. Hopefully, sock 2 will go better. I am not this fussy when I knit socks for myself. I guess that is why it is taking longer than expected. I'll have a pic later. I just now got my camera back from my sister. (I had left it at her house after Thanksgiving.)
Best news today is I finally got my hair cut after about six weeks of messing around. Now I look less this

and more this

But not a lot more.

It's my favourite heel, you might like it. Good luck with the Christmas knitting!
