Sort of Pregnant

The adoption papers are going to China on Monday. We just heard it from our caseworker and it was very welcome news since it has been a week since we turned them in to the Head Office of our adoption agency. And then, of course, there was the five months it took to collect them in the first place.

That is mostly what I've been doing lately. Collecting documents and collecting material for my baby quilts from the Yahoo swap group I joined. I've been in the 50 states swap, the International swap, and I've now joined the Spring swap, the USA swap (to help fill in the 50 states quilt) and I've started my own swap for vintage toys, to get material for the crib quilt.

My husband has a big work project coming up, and after he gets done we are going to buy the crib and stuff and get the baby's room finished. I've been reading books about baby care, but, as I do, I wonder if there was ever a baby who performed by the book. I guess it is keeping me busy and giving me the comforting illusion of being prepared.
