The Girl Who Lived

It’s All Mary Shelley All The Time around here these days. Looking forward with much anticipation to KTC Frankenstein November. This book is the only KTC selection so far that I have actually read before. While I was thinking about possible projects, I decided it would be fun to learn more about the Summer at Lac Leman, so I scouted around and found the spankin’ new release The Monsters: Mary Shelley and the Curse of Frankenstein. I requested it by inter-library loan and it arrived just in time to deliver me from The Time Traveler’s Wife before I cast myself into the river Mary Wollstonecraft-style. (I realize it would be better, next time I get this urge, to throw Time Traveler’s Wife into the river. But I won’t be getting the urge because I’m not reading any more of it, and, also, I don’t litter.) The Monsters was wildly entertaining. I’m going to buy a copy of it for my library. I’ve also compiled a list of other books I want to read about the Shelleys and the other Romantics. I’ll try to get most of them from the library, but I am going to the bookstore today to get a better copy of Frankenstein than the one I already own, so I may have trouble controlling myself.

Wanna’ see the Killer Socks?

The Purple Socks of Doom took out my target yesterday, so she said by e-mail. Also got e-mail from my assassin that said she unleashed her weapon on me yesterday. Which will arrive first? My targets half-finished socks for me to finish, or the blow that takes me out of the game?
