Highlights From My Vacation
- Attended the New Grass Blooze Festival at the Shawnee Saltpetre Cave Natural Amphitheatre where we saw The Hackensaw Boys.
- Finally got to see Lost Season 2 and I picked up a literary reference that DarkUFO missed and felt really smart.
- Hiked about fifteen miles (consecutively) and biked about five (non-consecutive) at the Land Between the Lakes. Also at LBL, we went to the pioneer village and drove through the elk and bison range.
- Picked up 5 geocaches, including the most intricate multi-cache of our career.
- Checked out the Museum of the American Quilter’s Society in Paducah, KY. It was great, but the best quilt I saw on my trip was the Cathedral Windows quilt I found at an antique mall in Grand Rivers, KY. It costs $545 so it is still there if you want to see it, too. I can’t remember the name of the shop but it is right across the street from the post office.
- Ate a Kentucky Hot Brown sandwich and -- Holy God -- was it good.
